As expected, we closed out the third quarter of the water year with a significant deficit to average: down all three months, and a combined deficit of 3.44” to average for the quarter. The aquifer-fed pond is managing to maintain its level, despite an increase in cranberry irrigation, but we’re finally beginning to see visual sign of the dryness. Grasses are growing much more slowly and lawn areas that receive full sun are starting to show signs of stress and browning out. My veggie garden would look like hell if I wasn’t watering it. Wildlife activity continues to be more or less normal.
