Surface water - ditches, swales, wetlands - has dried. Flood control ditches and canals are low. Ground cover in the forest is dry to depth. Non-irrigated grasses and shrubs are dormant or dead lending more potential fuel to a fire. Wildlife is stressed coming closer to houses that normal. Deer are now eating plants that are not normally part of their diet. With no rain in the forecast and increasing temperatures, the risk of fire will increase each day.
