More of the same. The lack of precipitation continues but conditions are remaining pretty constant. I measured only a trace of rain this week and our deficit is now 1.08 inches for the year (23% of average). I have not observed the ground getting hard or seen any lack of spring growth in the area. The Llano River continues to flow at record or near-record lows and the USGS reports this morning it is flowing at Hwy 87 at 56.7 cfs (record low 54 cfs in 2013) compared to the 51-year mean of 195 cfs. The drought index is unchanged since last week. Mason County continues to be under a burn ban.
