For the week I received 0.43" of rain, not enough to help much! October ended very dry with only a total of 0.72" recorded, which is 2.37" below the Prism monthly average. Not a great start for our new water year! The last of the farm fields, that I observe has been harvested, any fields still standing are because the farmer wants them too. Our area drought might see some improvement from rains predicted this week (I sure hope so)! My pond level is now down almost a foot, and while I have seen worse levels for October, this is not where I would like to be entering the winter. I have not observed much of a bird migration yet. My garden tilling will have to wait until the ground gets soft enough to pull the tomato plants and their baskets out of the hard, dry, concrete like ground!
