1.29” rain this week; 3.22” rain for May. Plus a few Trace amounts. SC Forestry app showing 9 wildfires across the state, so the recent rains and greening vegetation have helped. Wateree and Congaree rivers are up significantly from the recent rain. Fields are quickly absorbing the rainfall, so appears that we’re still catching up on the rain deficit. Roadside ditches hold water for a day or so after the heavy rain, but it’s quickly soaked up by the dry ground. Our portion of S.C. still showing in an Abnormally Dry condition on the Drought Monitor. The rain seems to come in spurts with dry (and lately - hot) spells in between. Local lawns still look a bit stressed. Birds and squirrels very active at the feeders.
