Even with the dry stretch the corn is doing fine and most all the soybeans are in the ground. Grass has been slow, but that is the lingering effect of the drought that we are coming out of. It is interesting to note that a pond I have on a farm that is 1 acre by 6 foot ave depth has still yet to run out the primary spillway pipe, even though 40 acres drain to it!! This is why I am cautious about saying the drought is really over... Otherwise the fruit and nut trees seem to be doing well. Disease pressure is low. and our fire risk has been low also. Livestock are doing well. Lots of turkeys taken this year. The morel season was very poor again, relating back to lingering drought effects.
