General Awareness:
 Precipitation: 10.9 mm of much needed rain this week. June-so-far(29.6) has a precipitation deficit of 46 mm (39% of the EC average (1971-1994)). The water year deficit is now 226.8 mm: we've gotten 81.6% of our average.  
Weather Observations: This week was mostly calm & overcast. At times it was foggy.
Drought Monitoring Assessments: Drought monitoring from the province as of June 26 had us at D2. Agriculture Canada's most recent drought assessment was published for data up to May 31:  D0.
Business & Industry: Chinook, chum,& sockeye  are non-retention.  Yellow-eye rockfish are nonretention.  Bivalves are closed.
Energy: Still using electric baseboard heat sometimes. 
- Fire: Cultural & Prescribed Burns: There are no OFTS registered prescribed burns in our area. --- Burn Ban: Coastal Fire Centre has category 2 & 3 burn bans in effect. --- Wildfire: there are none in our area as per BC Wildfire Service.

Plants & Wildlife:
salmon berries, raspberries, strawberries, & twin berries are all in fruit. apples & blueberries are on the way.
Animals:  The usual ducks, seabirds, eagles, & corvids. Small butterflies and bumblebees.
Air quality: good.
Recreation & Tourism: at least 2 pocket cruise ships anchored in the Bay this week. Lots of kayaks & camper vans have been around. As of yesterday, the visitor center is on their summer hours. Cultural storytimes were presented at the library this past week.
Public Health: BCCDC report up to June 26 shows that no cases of measles are active in Island Health.
Water Supply & Quality: Obswell 201’s level recovered a little, getting nearer (but still below) the 10 year record low. Well Level: 6.798 m below the surface.
Water Restrictions: none
Water Quality/Chemistry: no concerns
