Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IA-LN-49
Station Name: Cedar Rapids 2.1 NW
Report Date: 6/29/2025
Submitted: 6/29/2025 2:03 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
1.6 inches received this week. Drought Category remains abnormally dry. Despite the decent rain received, the heat overwhelms and dries out faster, with more humid. AC needed with fans all days, not much for open windows due to the humidity. Increase in fluids is needed, especially if doing things outdoors. Mowing still required this week. There were a few mushrooms growing but something ate them. Noticed arachnid webs around ant hills in the back yard, thanks to mother nature for evicting some of them quickly. I saw what I do believe was a small lunar moth on my screen door. Have seen these before, they are supposed to mean good luck. Increase in fire flies as well. Overall Mood is your typical Iowa Summer, most times with all of these things mentioned to add in.
Central Iowa is still under the same watering restrictions. A new Water Related incident of mention-Jasper Country Water disruption in near Lynnville 6/25/25 due to water tampering the water supply. This caused water loss to many in and and around the area.
Another Event of Noteworthy Mention-6/26/25 Meteorite in the South and Eastern areas of the United States observed by many with damage, probably many more than I have viewed yet. Thought it would be neat to mention for sky watchers.
Enjoy the July Celebrations Safely with the Summer Conditions All, and God Bless America! :):)
