Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IL-HY-30
Station Name: Colona 0.5 ESE
Report Date: 7/6/2025
Submitted: 7/06/2025 6:48 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
For the majority of last week, it was really warm and dry. There was no precipitation until yesterday afternoon with a soaking rain of 0.74". June ended up near normal, with only a MTD NOAA Norm deficit of 0.62". The US Drought Monitor again has this station on the edge of a small circle of no drought conditions, with Abnormally Dry conditions just a couple miles away. I have been providing supplemental watering to the garden and my potted plants. Grass has really slowed, but it is still green and showing very little sign of stress. The corn field next to me has already tasseled out and the beans look good. Go a couple miles down the road, the corn is not as tall and is showing signs of stress and the beans look slow growing. The Green and Rock Rivers are holding steady and at their summer norm. The Mississippi River is still on the rise but should level off this week about a little over a foot below Action Stage at the Lock and Dams at Rock Island and LeClaire.
