Station Name: Mckinleyville 7.3 ESE
Report Date: 7/6/2025
Submitted: 7/06/2025 11:21 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
Another week of overcast mornings, including 0.03" of drizzle, and reflected in an ETo of 0.40". Highs 59-71, lows 52-53. June rainfall of 0.08" was 6.6% of normal. Ruth Lake Reservoir on 7/3 at 96%. Mad River 5.9 feet and 114.0 cubic feet per second, Eel River at Scotia 8.6 feet and 365.0 cubic feet per second. Trinity River holding at 49-55 degrees, Klamath 61, Mattole 51 and the ocean 52-53. A lightning-caused fire is burning on the Humboldt-Siskiyou county line, and on June 30 burn permits were cancelled in Mendocino County. Fields and pastures are mown and dry, and most of the lawns at houses in Eureka are dry with dandelions. One advantage of the dryness--no mosquitos. Fourth of July was celebrated in Eureka and Arcata with street fairs, but the marine layer that day was so thick the sun never showed up. No change on the drought map--still Abnormally Dry hereabouts.
