Hail Report Information
Station Number: CO-AD-100
Station Name: Thornton 2.1 N
Date: 5/11/2008
Submitted 5/12/2008 12:57 PM
Taken at registered location: True
Notes: So small and delicate, hard to claim actual indentations. All were 0.15 - 0.20" sized. When touched by metal ruler , hail melted immediately. Most were round, white. Did not distort nor shatter upon impact with hard ground but melted quickly, those landing on thick groundcover type shrubs lasted a few minutes before melting. Or was this grauple, not hail? Footnote: since hail has a higher density than grauple, and is usually semi-transparent and rounded, this must have been grauple, not hail.
